Faith. Justice. Restorative Love.
“any analysis of the gospel which did not begin and end with God's liberation of the oppressed was ipso facto unchristian.”

MISSION STATEMENT
The Beauty Project was established in 2016 to attack racial justice inequalities of the mass incarceration system with a 360 faith-based approach from the inside out. Educational growth mechanisms are designed to address the needs of the entire Black family from the head; the black male, his Queen, and their children.

Cousins Empowered Optimist is a multi-lateral community based business, focused on supporting the needs of the family. Taking an emphasis on the child, the organization has taught several children the fundamentals of golf, coding, and entrepreneurship at no cost to their families. Upon reviewing the needs of the culture they served, they were recently drawn to our organization. We are excited to provide this key community contributor with calming conversations, healing podcast, and a resource guide to jump-start their re-entry services. We work for you - our affected families! Our volunteers and advocates attend community meetings, network, assist with parole preparation, consult towards clemency, guide human resource efforts, and support lasting change in an ex-offenders life. The goals are to get our loved ones home, and keep them home!

We all need it!
YOUTH
Focused on workshops for young people at risk of matriculating through the juvenile justice system; our youth division provides multiple layers of support.

-
Support youth as soon as they return home regarding their civil liberties.
-
Creating workshops and forms of mentorship from A to Z on how to navigate outside of detainment.
-
Spiritual support outside of the detention center; worship recommendations, youth groups, bible study, specific denomination resources, and lots of prayer.

If you have a youth group, ministry, or urban planning team that requires training & attention, services are provided on a case by case basis.

Community-Based Solutions
EDUCATION
Seek to become a primary resource guide to train and educate Pastoral Leadership in reentry and social justice services. Establish peace circle practices, and restorative justice guides which have both biblical components and denomination focus. This will empower the congregations to understand that they are still operating under the doctrine of God's law.

AGAPE
Create alliance local, national, and international to support reentry resources of African American youth efforts to continue strengthening the Black Family.

Connect with local organizations, political officers, prisons, and schools to establish a policy for juvenile justice ministry. Too many state & local facilities treat AA as prisoners and respect is not mandated by political leaders, this must end!

Sign Up for March 2024 Book Review and conversation with author. Each mile driven to visit a spouse incarcerated is placed on the burden of the one left behind. In most cases it is the woman and she is left to cover her household, support her man; both financially and emotionally but where does she receive her support?
The Beauty Project and all its affiliated programs are proud members of the Faith Based Youth Justice Network 501(c)3.
